CANDIDATE INFORMATION

You are required to bring proof of BMFA  Membership and Insurance with you to show the examiner on the day.

Test Requirements

Please refer to your BMFA Handbook or see the Handbook on the BMFA website and familiarise yourself with the requirements of the test you wish to take.

Be advised that the tests will follow the schedules exactly as specified in the BMFA handbook.

We recommend that before test day you practice in the company of an experienced pilot who can critically appraise your flying standard and advise areas of necessary improvement.

The test schedules can be found in the BMFA online handbook as follows:

Q     Fixed wing A and B Certificate – page 49

Q     Helicopter A and B Certificate – page 52

Q     Silent Flight - Electric A and B Certificate – page 56

Test Questions

You are advised to also read the appropriate sections in the handbook as described on page 49 under the heading “The Test Questions”.

What the Examiner will be looking for

We recommend that as well as studying the test schedule and the section on test questions, you should also read the section “Test Standards for Examiners” (see Test Standards and Guidance) as this will help you understand what they will be looking for before, during and after your test.

If you do not have access to a computer, you can ask the BMFA to send you the information. Tel: +44 (0)1162 440028.
